decorate my house

I am SO proud of how I decorated that I made a facebook album of all the things I love about my new place.

The craftiest thing I did was instead of just tacking fabric to the wall (can look tacky, no pun intended…) I wrapped it around a big piece of foam core I had laying around and then put it up and it looks great. Yay!

Fun with hammer and nails continues. I just put up a few laundry lines in the backyard since apparently, our new incredibly small washer and dryer can’t actually both work at the same time (??) This will be fine in the summer, but what am I going to do in the winter? Also when my neighbor pulled out of the gravely drive, it sent clouds of dust right up to my clothes. Oh well. It’s still easier than washing everything in buckets by hand. And has very little to do with my actual quality of life. Actual quality of life is pretty much just about my attitude.

I made major headway today. It’s 6:19 and I barely left the house or ate or anything. I rearranged all our plants, hung about 18 things on the walls, changed the drapes in my room, started organizing the dining room/office, our dvd collection, I swept and mopped, two guys came to drop off the washer and dryer, I glued felt pads to chairs AND I did a sinkload of dishes. It’s starting to feel more and more like our HOME, instead of this place we’re renting. I’m actually starting to really like it!!
