I think i've seen her stuff before, 21 months ago

but i was really struck by the illustrations on some notecards in the Museum of Natural History yesterday. Sue Coccia produces some beautiful animal images that incorporate kind of a collage of other images from nature. Very spiritual & ecological.

Thanks to Shelly 22 months ago

for introducing me to Michael Parkes.

This is “The Last Lion.”

Joanne Gair 1 year ago

I find body painting beautiful & fascinating. This is just one example from New Zealand artist Joanne Gair.

An artist i discovered on a wine bottle: 2 years ago

Tertia du Toit of South Africa produced the gorgeous images for Juno’s Cape Maiden series.

I bought the Chardonnay solely because i liked the picture:

And i bought the Shiraz because i liked the picture and because i particularly like Shiraz:

You can see more of Tertia du Toit’s work here.

I ran across some gorgeous retro prints 2 years ago

by Ralph Burch.

I particularly liked his “Martini” works.

Monet's "Bordighera" 2 years ago

I like the impressionists, and i don’t think there are any of Monet’s works that i dislike. I chose this one because it is different from your standard mass-produced-calendar-type Monet works. And the curves of the trees remind me of Van Gogh—very dreamy-organic-feminine, if you know what i mean.

Angels Hide Nothing 2 years ago

by Augusto Sanchez

I’m not one of those folks who go ga-ga over angels, but i really like his multi-media works. Deceptively simple iconography, with meaning beyond your traditional religious angel art.

You can go to his website if you want to see more.

I'm going to respect her copyrights, 2 years ago

but i wanted to share the paintings of Cathee A. Clausen. She has a unique and fascinating style that really pulls me in. I particularly like “Power Within.”

#7 Brookgreen Gardens in Murrell's Inlet, SC, 2 years ago

is more of an experience than an individual piece. Beautiful gardens with an astounding collection of sculptures scattered throughout. Although the sculptures have a variety of themes, there are several representations of Artemis (or Diana, if you’re more Roman than Greek).

#6: Maxfield Parrish is another artist 2 years ago

that gives me trouble when i want to pick just one work. This is one that i don’t know as well as some of his others, but i love the way he brings together his talent for communicating through his subjects’ body language and, particularly in this painting, the beauty of his landscapes.

This one is called Aquamarine.
