I’ve always played in water, but I’ve never swam. I’m almost afraid that I’d drown (almost happened twice on my senior trip). I would like to prevent that from happening just because I don’t have the skill.
What’s funny? I met two women in my water aerobics class. I met Michelle before class started as we both showered before hitting the water. I meet L after the class. I just happened to share that I don’t know how to swim, and they’re both gung ho about teaching me. Today, I “swam” using the foam noodles. I’m not moving very well on my back, but I used my arms to help propel me on my stomach. That was an intense workout! I’m still feeling it right now!
I must learn to swim for fitness, too. I can’t wait to make this happen!
