Why do people think it's always proper/formal to use "I"? 3 years ago

If you’d use “I”, it would be proper to use “soandso and I; if you’d use “me”, it would be correct to use “soandso and me”.

For example:
I went to the pool ; soandso and I went to the pool.
That happened to me; that happened to soandso and me.

It’s really pretty simple! :)
