...when you talk to your parents about this stuff? I originally thought I wanted to tell them, but now I’m not so sure. Things work great the way they are, and I just think it would be an awkward situation/conversation. The way I’m dealing with it for all my friends is on an ‘if they ask basis’, I’ll tell them, but I don’t see my parents asking any time soon. If you’ve got an stories about how you did this one, answers on a postcard please :)

I’m still wondering how to do this conversation with my parents. I think it will be easier with my mum as she’s more understanding about things. Not a clue how it will go down with my dad. I doubt he will be upset or anything but I just can’t picture his reaction to it. Still contenplating how to put the conversation. With my friends its been quite easy, I’ve only told them if they’ve asked about relationships but everyone has been cool about it. Think I just need to build up the courage to do this one. Dunno if I want to do it in person of over the phone. Don’t get a lot of time with my parents when visiting them so don’t want to be stuck there if it becomes uncomfortable. Hmmmm…I really want to do this but need to do it right.

I’m part way there. Only decided about 3 months ago it was about time I stopped hiding from myself and preventing myself from enjoying life. Seems stupid when you think about it, especially in todays modern society.

The way it happened was I moved to a new country 3 months back and didn’t know anyone out here (well, hardly). So decided this was the perfect opportunity to, well, be myself.

I started on Facebook by removing my single status and “interested in” from my profile then suddenly there were lots of messages on my wall. Funnily enough several of them jokingly said “so have you got a boyfriend then?”. Lol. How right they were. It took me quite a few days though before I was up to telling them and they were all cool about it.

I’ve since told my brother and a number of other friends, but not my parents. Think thats the big one and I’m just not ready for that conversation just yet. I’m still pondering over it, but reckon I will when the time is right.
