So my first painting only needs a coat of gloss over the top of it now to finish it off and make it look all shiny to give the effect I want.
My second canvas, I’m not so happy with and I’m considering painting over it since I’m not happy with the colours. The final blank canvas remains in its packaging until I’m inspired enough as to what was meant to be on it. It’ll come to me, probably at some random point.

I started :)
So on Friday night I was watching Heroe’s and I saw some artwork in the show. Very simply colour blocks placed next to each other and I thought I could do that (as I’ve said about many other pieces I’ve seen before). Then on Saturday morning a woke up with a whole free weekend with nothing to do and I thought, I’m gonna do it, I’m gonna paint a picture. So I went down to the art store, bought three canvases, a set of brushes and a set of acrylic paints. Having never painted anything in a creative sense since school, I’ve forgotten just how much fun it is!
I started my first painting which is inspired by the colour block I saw on TV but I’ve improvised and introduced lots of textures to it and so I’m slowly building up all these layers of texture and slapping on more paint. Only thing is that I can only do one layer a day so its gonna take a while.
Once I’d left the first layer to dry I got bored and so drove to Bergamont Station in Santa Monica, California’s largest art gallery complex and took a look around just a few of the galleries and came away with lots more inspiration so now I have my second concept in my head and I begun that one today.
Mean while, I’ve now decided I want to paint so swirly leafy patterns on rolls of paper and hang them on some of my walls like wallpaper.
I don’t know what’s going on but suddenly I’ve become all creative and I love it! Do something new today, you might just suprise yourself!

I just moved into my new apartment and started buying some art for the walls and I’ve really enjoying looking for the stuff. Now I want to paint some stuff of my own. I haven’t done anything like this since school so can only imagine its gonna be quite difficult as I don’t know the first thing about paints. All I know is that I want to use canvas and I want to create a series that I can put up next to or near each other. At the moment, most of my ideas are forming around simple line drawings in a cartoon style or of some abstract lines. It gives me something to think about at night while a lay awake in bed suffering from jet lag.
