while i played around to learn how rails really works, i finally did something that i like and that i am happy with.
it’s feedication. what does it do? it feedicates. g
well it is a personal aggregation service, that fetches your userdata from flickr, audioscrobbler, del.icio.us and of course 43things.
you just have to sign up and tell feedication your account names of the other web applications.
then feedication.com will be able to collect your personal data from these websites and display it on a feedication profile page :)
well here is the link once more :)

i finally finished my first ruby on rails project.
it’s a website where you can create a profile of your own, view the profile of other users and can get in touch with them :)

for the geeks out there:

i am really impressed by rails…i have to say that my progress seems to be not that fast going compared to many programming geeks out there that praised rails in their blog….
but it really is exciting to work with rails and to learn ruby at the same time…but i have to say that i just worked with php and mysql in the past and never used an mvc framework ever before…and never saw classes or objects or anything before…
but i it works :)

unfortunately my webhost does support ruby 1.6.7 not 1.8.2 so i can’t use rails by now. I wrote an email to them and tried to convince them to update ruby so that i can put it on rails :D
they didn’t reply yet, but in the meantime i installed rails local on my mac and did the “todo-tutorial” of rubyonrails.org and i am very impressed and really can’t wait to use the rails framework for developing a new browsergame which i’ve written in php some months ago…
let’s hope that my webhost will update to ruby 1.8.2 that would be awesome…if not ill have to switch to textdrive or another host…
