Actually, two basement studios came about in two ways. One, an actual artist moved in and set up her space in the corner we allotted her. Two, we kept having drawing night, so the setup lingered and kept getting little improvements until finally it seemed like the place to go when i wanted to do a little project. Then, suddenly, i was painting in the basement studio.

i did some general cleaning in the basement and started painting the base shoe for upstairs. there’s still shelving and shifting to be done, installing outlets and dealing with crumbling concrete, but it’s already a better place to be.
i want to have it ready for the bands for horace phair.
oh, and the window sash? they’re not rotten. but they could use some cleaning up and maybe painting.
- clear the stuff out of that space
- which makes the side project: paint and install the trim for upstairs, ha!
- scrub off the spalling cement
- patch the walls
- install 1 or 2 more electric sockets
- new lights
- paint the walls and floor
- build a model stand w/storage
- build shelves for materials
- replace the window sash? it’s pretty rotten.
