I’m not quite done, though. I raised £898 so far, partly due to the kindness of people on here.
I have some of my own money that I plan to donate, and I’ll go around one last time to try and raise the remaining balance from people at work.
What a rush!

I’ve made my first milestone which was to raise 10% of my target. It’s up to £110 as of this moment of writing, and I’ve got another £30 on promise.
I’m feeling very positive about my ability to raise this £1000, although I’m a bit concerned that the first £600 will be like this, and then the last £400 will be a kind of excruciating torture because I’ll already have asked everyone I could think of and only people I don’t really know well will be left.
Still, for this cause I suppose I am prepared to stick my neck out at least a bit!

I’m finding fund raising much more exciting than I was expecting. I thought that £1000 was a ridiculous sum when I first wrote it down, but now I’m starting to believe that I could actually do it. Maybe even exceed it!
Amazing!

I’m attempting to raise this money because someone I know died recently as a result of leukaemia. There’s often nothing you can really do to help make things better for people in these situations. This was my own personal response to it.
There are a few more details in my fundraising page. If you want, this page also allows you to help me reach this goal by sponsoring me online to run a half marathon; the BUPA Great North Run.
OK, I know that last bit was cheeky but it’s for a good cause!
If anyone else feels moved to join me in this goal, that would be absolutely wonderful!
