After applying in 2009, being medically differed, I am hear to say that I have been invited. I have created a blog to chronicle my next steps. Feel free to ask me questions or drop me a line. This is a huge accomplishment and I am happy to cross this off my list on 43things.

The person I spoke to was really nice. She said to call back in two weeks. I hope this helps to get my papework seen. My expected departure date is June and I really hope I get into a program by June.
I have submitted my notarized letters and I think my medical exams went ok, but why is Peace Corps taking so long. I really, really want to go to Ghana. My mom says its the little US in Africa. Recently, a snow storm hit DC, so I am sure this will delay me even more :(. I have decided I will call Peace Corps. I noticed an ongoing trend of people calling the office getting an immediate response in various Peace Corps Blogs. I too will try this.
In the mean time, instead of moping around and reading blogs. I have decided to take the time to learn more about ICT, and read books that can help me become a better Corps member in Africa.
My dad has finally signed and notarized the letter concerning my car payments. I am so ecstatic, and if you knew my dad, you would know why. I am happy at this step forward. Two checks down, and one to go :D. I am currently awaiting for the letter in the mail, then I can mail it off :D
So after a year of having the application open. I finally submitted my application today. Now they want notarized notes concerning my financial obligation. I pray those who I ask will do so in a timely manner. I think this part will be even harder, but I will try to do it within 2 week.s
