I’m rolling the “2,000 words of fiction each week” goal into this one. That’s about how many I’d need to write one draft of a book in a year.
I tried working on the current chapter last night for about half an hour. (I already have six chapters, most of which I wrote during National Novel Writing Month.)
The problem I’m running into is that I keep rewriting what I’ve already got for this chapter. It’s all awkwardly phrased, and I can’t stand it. So I’m not making “forward progress.” Maybe I should just write some other chapter based one of the one-sentence ideas I have written down then come back to this one. I think that’s what I’m going to do if I run into the same problem tomorrow.
