at first it seems like the most daunting thing you will ever do in your life, but once your parents get over the original shock of it all it’s absolutely fine and you wonder what on Earth you were ever worrying about.
My mum is like a friend to me and she’s so supportive and my dad and my 16 y/o brother are fine with it too. My friends were all absolutely fantastic.
It’s 2007 and in my opinion it’s never been easier to come out. Society as a whole is a lot less homophobic than we were let’s say, 50 years ago. No-one [in a good way] really cares anymore, plus most girls love having a gay man for a friend :]
So if you’re thinking of coming out, do it. It’ll be one of the hardest things you’ll ever do in your life, but you’ll feel so much better for it, and you’ll thank yourself in the future.
