So I stopped by my nearby YMCA to see about adult swimming lessons.. picked up the schedule and price sheet. A tad pricey for non-members but decent nonetheless. I’m going to stop by one of the county Parks’ Aquatic centers to pick up information from them as well and compare..

I took swimming classes a few years back and started feeling a little more comfortable with the feeling of the pressure on my body when I’m in water. I could do a few strokes but I’m still only comfortable in the shallow end of the pool where my feet can still touch bottom. I still didn’t feel comfortable even in a lifejacket in the deep end. I really want to improve my skills in this area and my motivation right now is whitewater rafting :) I want to do the higher classes of rapids but I also want to know I’m not going to drown myself if I tip out. Hubby is also keen to try out the rapids in duckies, which are solo crafts and it would help if I didn’t drown when trying to get back into one after having fallen out!
