tonight we had 2 years ago

a siblings and parents ‘meeting’ before they all fly away again next week. the main point was to try make some sort of financial plan for the future, what with my parents being elderly and having no disability insurance, savings, medical aid and a state pension which is worth peanuts.

anyhow, the conversation was long and emotional and i’m sad to say i am not proud, in fact i am ashamed, of my response at one point in the evening.

i def. didn’t shine.

not liking myself overly right now.

i had this dream, this week 3 years ago

that i had a baby girl, and that i named her Jewel.

i’ve never really wanted a daughter, but the dream was so vivid and the baby so real.

she sparkled and glowed and shone.

made me open to the idea.
