There were 500 Cape Town entries from the 50 of us who met early on Saturday morning in the city centre for a two hour walk and after half an hour my battery pack started dying so i finished early and waited at the cafe where we’d planned to meet for breakfast and a social after.

was very cool, met some great people etc.

never thought one of my pics would be chosen as the winning one tho!

irresistable!

yesterday, outside the the tenement blocks in a poor area (Ocean View) reknowned for its drugs and gangs.

there was a group playing dominos at a plastic table on the pavement and i asked if i could take some photos. the little kids clustered aroung dancing and posing like crazy, but this man’s hypnotic eyes were hard to miss amidst the general noise.

my flickr friend Kathalijne did, yesterday.

she is over from Holland, shooting portraits for an exhibition, and asked me to model for her.

she has not yet edited the pics, i edited this one on picnik
(great for people like me who can’t be arsed to learn photoshop – yet)with a kinda 1960’s / cross processing effect.

the burnt out car and house occured a few weeks back during a hectic fire in my corner of the world.

took a series of portraits of my friends and their baby yesterday. quite pleased with some of them, this one is my favourite.

i just WONthis little baby (being delivered next week).

i get the feeling, one way and another, God is pretty supportive of my photography and related stuff…

my first digital camera was a gift from a fellow 43thinger
my second camera (DSLR) was initially a loan, now is officially mine, a gift from a friend of my brothers who i have not seen since i was 8 or 9.
now i get this as a prize in a competition.

so one of my pics, the one of the 3 boys playing on the beach at sunset that i posted recently, is on the cover of Charged Magazine next month – ok so it’s a smaller version and made to form part of a pic of cellphones, but hey – a cover pic is a cover pic right?
