I had a bit of a revelation this week about college. I haven’t been using my time there constructively at all these past 2 & half years. One of the main reasons I went to art school was to get to grips with the darkroom & have space to develop my photographic skills but I haven’t even developed a print in the darkroom since first year. That’s pretty poor going.
Now I just have to convince my tutors that photography is worth pursuing instead of traditional printmaking media.

Found out last week that I can spend the rest of my degree in Fine Art specialising in photography… which is pretty great :D

Well I may plan to buy a fancy-pants digital soon but I still really want to get to grips with the college darkroom. I’m also a little paranoid that I’ll neglect the film cameras once I get the digital.
So, I’ll commit to improving my photography skills. The basic stuff – like composition, & subject matter – right up to darkroom technique. And I suppose learning how to use the digital, when it arrives, would count too, right? :P
