We paid for her today. Next week we go up again and sign papers and start getting her ready to come down to Philadelphia, (from Long Island NY)

We got an email last night telling us the ebay buyer defaulted on her. The seller wanted to know if we are still interested. Said he has another interested person, but he’d rather see us get the boat, so he wasn’t going to contact him until after he talked to us!
Tomorrow, (our 8th wedding anniversary), we’re going to set up getting a survey. As long as she has no major osmosis, (or other major hull damage) and her good engine works, (she has 2), we’re going to be getting a new boat this month! What an anniversary/mother’s day/hubby’s b-day present!!
How bloomin’ cool is that!!
She’s 66 feet, 16’ beam, 8’ draft with a full keel. She currently has no rig, but we are going to give her a traditional topsail schooner rig. We’re very excited!
We’re looking for the boat that we want to take the circumnavigation on. We have found one we like, (though it needs A LOT of work), and we’ll find out if it’s available for sale on the 10th.
I currently live on a Westsail 32 with my hubby and two small children. We want to move up to a larger boat within the next few years, to do our”big trip” on.
We are planning to leave on our 5 year circumnavagation November 29 2010. We are starting to do prelim planning, but haven’t started planning any details except it will be about 5 years long and the departure date.
