I’ve been hearing oral tales of people in poverty over the last few years, however, now I’m reading about it more often on facebook for example. I’m seeing people who have been successful struggling and I’m seeing people who are doing well making pleas for their facebook friends to help them help a friend pay their rent, buy food and make Christmas a little better until they can get themselves back on track.
Either this is a bad year or this is a wake up call for times to come. Either way I would like to start doing something that I can maybe make with my hands to donate to those in need.
Money is hard for me to give because it will never be enough to pay someone’s rent at this point in my life, but if that changes I will do that one year by paying it forward.
In the meantime, I’m thinking of having a website and creating a not-for-profit organization, or just a neighbourhood volunteer group to start off, where we make things to eat and use to donate.
Just thinking.
