I learned my lesson. Get a credit report! I recently discovered tha I had a credit card that I was not aware of. It had been sent to a previous address (luckily just my parents house) and the account had been open since 2000. I promptly called to have it cancelled, as it had never been used. It is weird to think that one could have credit floating around unknown.

I transfered the balance to a couple of different cards and paid off the rest of the balance with some money from savings. I’m on my way to getting rid of it! It sucked, too, it was a high interest rate and it was killing me.
I”m finding this to be extremely difficult. My interest rates are ridiculous and my payments are too much. I applied for a card to transfer my rates on today. I hope this helps.
Why does this just seem like a never ending battle? Does anyone have any advice on defeating the credit card demon?
I heard the other day that the average person has $8,600 in credit card debt! That is insane!
I’ve got three cards and I’m working on taking that number down to one (just for work and emergencies). Credit cards are evil and the companies knowingly leech off of our addiction to consumerism. It is like getting addicted to valium to get off an adiction to Meth.
