A graphic novel (it counts!). Pacing was a little off but there were beautiful moments.

For my short story class as well. I really liked this though. Would like to read more. I will have to when I write an essay about it.
For my “short story” class – though I think it’s more of a novella. Very Russian, didactic Christian ending.
One of Dylan’s favorite poets. I would like to read more.
Really sad, sweet, eerily echo-y of my own relationships. Graphic novel.
School reading counts! Refreshing to read this for political theory instead of boringboring Hobbes and Locke.
Another Vonnegut essay and nonfiction collection. Gave a lot of insight into Vonnegut’s personal opinions outside of his fiction, and while I agree with a lot of his worldview it is still a little depressing to have my pessimism reaffirmed.
My first Bukowski. I really liked reading something so honest, even if it was sort of brutal and cold. I think I just like reading how different people handle things like disillusionment that are universal to everybody.
Also also read for Coming of Age in America, for a paper on female gender construction in contemporary young adult literature. All of these were re-reads, by the way, but it was a lot more interesting to read them from a sociohistorical perspective rather than just, what’s the latest in teen YA?
