I broke down...

after five days. But what I managed to do in that time:
-a 500-piece puzzle
-read “Reading Lolita in Tehran”
-read the first 3/4 of “Franny and Zooey”
-read two history time periods in my review book
-listen to a lot of music

So, slightly more productive.

I’m spending the next week Internet-free! Let’s see how much more I get done (and if I can handle it.)



Identifying time-wasters

1. The Internet. No more random surfing. I can check: email, last.fm, myspace, nationstates, 43things, postsecret, softerworld, white ninja. Then I get off until everything else I need to do is done.
2. AIM. From now on, one hour a day.
3. Mindless eating. This is something I just need to stop in general.

Those seem to be the big ones. So, a few restrictions should make some difference. I’ll add more as they come to me.
