Quit my job

I may have to resurrect this goal, as I’m not happy with my current job situation…

It feels kind of bittersweet. I don’t know why.

Maybe it hasn’t sunk in yet.

I stupidly agreed to come in an hour early tomorrow and work from 8 am til 6 pm. Gah. And of course I’m not getting paid overtime for that extra hour because my company doesn’t pay overtime.

Thank goodness I’ve only got three shifts left.

Only 7 shifts left… :)

Please accept this letter as formal notification that I am leaving my position of assistant manager at (Company) in (Location).

The last date I am available to work is Friday, April 20, 2007.

If all goes to plan, I’m going to give my notice on April 5 to have my last day be April 20. Here’s hoping it works. ;)

This will be the second Saturday that’s been ruined for me. Last Saturday I had to work a split shift because someone up and quit, and this coming Saturday I was only supposed to work a half day but now I have to work a full day because there’s going to be a big event going on at the mall. And I love how I’m being informed of these changes like the day before they happen. So much for making plans. I hate my job sooooo much.

...of giving my two weeks’ notice in two weeks brings me great joy. :)

Today was mind-shatteringly boring at the store. I could have ripped my hair out. I can’t wait til I give my notice, because I think I’m growing crazier there minute by minute.

I’m a retail manager, and it has to be the most inane thing I’ve ever done. I feel like I’m losing brain cells being there. And, my store is a C-volume store… which basically means we’re lucky if we have 50 people in our store. Notice I said people, not customers… we’re lucky if we have 5 transactions per day! Our head office was talking about closing us down back in January, but then we got taken off the store closure list… I wish we still were! The only reason I’m still there basically is because of the benefits… which I could probably get somewhere else, with better pay and better hours. :P

I’ve given myself til March 30 to stick it out. That’s if I don’t get a better job sooner, lol. I think I have enough savings to tide me over a couple of months… I just really need a change, and I want to travel.
