Two parties 1 year ago

I’ve been to two parties recently – one just before Xmas and one birthday party just after Xmas. The pre-Xmas party was difficult for me because I hardly knew anyone there. The birthday party would have been more to my liking if we hadn’t been required to play party games. Oh well – I’m still glad I went along.

I don’t usually enjoy parties – in fact I usually avoid them. But last Friday I persuaded myself to go along to a party thrown by a group of acquaintances that I don’t know too well. It was good to catch up with the people I’ve met before and perhaps even better to chat with a couple of new faces.
