But I feel great. It was a great experience and I look forward to going the full 5 days next time. It’s nice to get that kind of discipline. Some of it stuck with me. I don’t overeat as much as I used to. But I still have some work to do.

I feel perfectly fine. I had some kale/carrot/orange juice for breakfast and I’m having some apple/grapefruit for lunch.

Last night at work was extremely hard. I honestly thought I would end up cheating and even had a piece of sour cream coffee cake ready! But I didn’t. I kept thinking about the detox benefits, etc. and I held on.

When I got home I had some pear/cucumber juice and went straight to bed. I felt really really good after having the juice, although the juice was horrible. It tasted fine, but there was a ton of pulp in it that made me gag. It had a cream of wheat consistency. I will never make that kind of juice again!

The skin on my stomach looks looser an kind of gross. But I am not doing this to lose weight. I would be happy with a 5-10 lb weight loss but the main purpose is detoxing.

If I keep feeling this “normal”, I’m sure I can finish the whole fast.

A 5 day fast last 120 hours. I have 100 remaining.

Last night I spent $63 on a ton of fruit and veggies. I got home after work after not eating for 6 hours. I had some apple/celery juice and went to bed.

I had dreams of drinking hot chocolate. About 5-6 I almost slipped and had a piece of candy and I almost licked my the peanut butter off the knife after making my son’s lunch. I even woke up from a nap today and went straight to the kitchen, forgetting I was supposed to be fasting.

But I am still going strong. I did not slip up. I feel better than I thought I would. For breakfast, I had cucumber/orange/carrot/celery juice. For lunch I had spinach/tomato/carrot juice. The spinach was a little strong but I was able to stomach it. Maybe a little less spinach next time.

I start peeing within minutes of finishing the juice. I’ve been extremely tired today and I have a mild headache. It could be partly because of the coffee I gave up 3 days ago, too.

I have a 7 hour work shift ahead of me tonight. I work in a restaurant. It will be hard to resist the food everywhere, but I know I can do it. I will take 2 servings of juice with me.

I wrote this last night immediately after my last meal:

I just finished my last meal at 6:15 on 1/4/09. I had water, a veggie sandwich with cream cheese, a side of macaroni and cheese and some stewed tomatoes.

It was filling, but not excessive. I need to work on getting to the “full” feeling and then STOPPING. My reason for the juice fast is to discipline myself no not overeat. I eat a very good vegetarian (almost vegan) diet. I also get moderate exercise, but I eat way too much, usually beyond the point of feeling full.

This juice fast is scary. I am anxious and excited to start. Can I do this?
