Seriously, I would be one of the “complainers” if I didn’t remind myself every day that I have this goal in place.
I am a waitress. Every time a customer bitches or tips badly in spite of good service, I get all pent up, but then I think of 43T and I try very hard to adopt the attitude.
It really makes a difference! Not that I do it intstantly, I do complain, but I am getting better.

I’m doing this at work every day. It works! It’s nice when I get a bad tip or an unhappy customer. I let it slide totally, and I move on! I love this attitude!

I don’t know if this counts as “zen” thinking or not, but I sort of changed my attitude lately. I make very little money. I only made 11,000 in 2006 b/c of maternity leave and raising a new baby. At 27 I am so scared I will never get anywhere even though I have a degree. Since having a good paying job isn’t an option for me right now, the best I can do is educate myself the best I can. That way when my son is a little older and I go back to work I will know what to do with my money to make it grow. I dropped the “poor me” attitude and I am actually DOING something about it!

When I got turned down for my personal loan due to my low income, I was frustrated for about 3 minutes, and then I moved on. I am happy that I tried for the loan and that I got an answer, even if it’s not the one I want. Now I can focus on how to manage without the loan. It’s so much better to see it like this rather than get mad at all the reasons why I got turned down, because none of them are within my control!
