I’m very big on the “everything happens for a reason” and “it’ll all turn out all right in the end” cliches. They’ve gotten me through quite a few rough bits. I’m losing this faith, tho’. I was always pretty confident that whatever life threw at me, hard work (gawd, i’ve got such a us protestant attutide) will get me through it and where I want to be. Well, I’m working my a** off lately and sliding farther and farther into quick sand… someone chuck me a stick… but hold on to your end this time!
