TV's in on it now! 22 months ago

Twice this week I’ve been talking to a member of my family about something and an almost exact scenario was shown on TV staight after my mentioning it!!

Thoughts of people 23 months ago

A few days ago when I was bathing before work, I was thinking of a friend. Later that day she called into my shop to see me.

Last night whilst listening to an audio, I thought of an old friend that I haven’t seen in a long while. Today she happened to text me out of the blue!

This morning when I was running late I said to my daughter ‘Alex (one of my bosses) could pop into the shop so I’d better get a move on’. Low and behold she turned up an hour after I got into work (phew!) She only comes about once a month so I think this counts as synchronisity.

No man is an island. 1 year ago

When I was talking with Mam this morning about her life the saying ‘no man is an island’ popped into my head. As I wasn’t sure of the full meaning I kept it to myself.
This evening when I opened an email I was surprised to find the following quote:
No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. – John Donne
If anyone can elaborate on the menaing of this for me I’d be very grateful :)

authority figures 2 years ago

I’ve been having feelings of annoyance towards authority figures lately, when I sat down and thought about it the other night I tried to consider why I had these feelings and what I could do differently to change my perspective.
The next day I had the following email:

Be Your Own Authority
by Owen Waters

In the 1960s, parents and teachers complained that the younger
generation had less respect for authority than they did when
they were that age. In the 1980s, parents and teachers
complained that the younger generation had less respect for
authority than they did when they were that age. In the 2000s,
well, you get the picture. Every generation has progressed more
in the same direction because The current shift in consciousness is dissolving the old habit of submission to authority.

Traditionally, organizations were run on hierarchies of
authority. In order to work within a hierarchy, you were
expected to surrender your willingness to think for yourself
and, instead, obey orders without question. Human creativity
was suppressed while such a structure encouraged people to be
closed-minded when exposed to any new information or ideas.

People with open minds, on the other hand, can think for
themselves and therefore become their own authorities. Being
open to new ideas, they can discover creative, new solutions to
challenges in their work and in their lives.

Luck or not? 2 years ago

As I walked into the changing room of the spa I realised that I had no change for a locker. I opened one to see how much I needed and there was a twenty pence coin that someone had left behind.
I left the same coin in the same locker for someone else to find. Hopefully to share the sense of good luck.

Donating 2 years ago

Not so long ago I said to my mother that if I won the lottery I would look for entrenpenuers to help them build their businesses.
Kyoken74 happened to leave a post on my ‘do a random act of kindness’ about a website called ‘Kiva’ that gives people the opportunity to donate a small amount of money towards people in third world contries who want to expand their businesses.
So it seems to me that my intention has been brought full circle and made me see that I can do it (millionaire or not).

Today in work... 2 years ago

The shop was empty and I had the urge to sing ‘Morning Has Broken’ then I started to laugh about the outburt. I wondered where the tune had come from having not sang it since I was in school over 16 years ago!
When I got home later I asked my daughter if she’d had assembly this morning and she said that she had, and when I asked her what songs she’d been singing (yes, you guessed it) ‘Morning Has Broken’ was one of them!!!

coinsidence? 2 years ago

There have been so many of these in my life. I see them as a signal that I’m on the right track. :)
