what’s the cult of domesticity, you ask?
now, yes, the cult of domesticity is a rather old ideal. and no one refers to it at such anymore. but it’s all still there, and i don’t like it. it’s time for some female empowerment. it’s time for women not to have to make a choice between home and family. it’s time to abolish the idea that women are only meant to have children and raise them into good citizens.
sometimes i think no one really thinks like that anymore. but that is, of course, a lie. just not in the liberal society in which i live. even here, it’s existant, it just takes some looking.
