There’s eight of them currently.
Basically, over the years I’ve discovered novella is my preferred narrative form. Novels are maybe too long for me, and I can hardly put all I have to say in a short story (I’m a bit long winded, I’m afraid).
In any case, there’s eight of them that I had been seriously working on during the years and haven’t finished.
Here I’m not counting the novel I’m currently working on – that’s a serious business and I really aim to try to publish that in the end.
Also I’m not counting a great big fantasy novel I’d been working on a couple of years back – taht one is too big a bite for me at present.
The eight stories I intend to finish are more of a practice run, or at least I regard them that way. I’ll wade through (NaNoWriMo style, without looking back or editing) until I’ve told the story. Then I’ll do second drafts, third drafts etc. If I like them in the end, cool, if not – I’ll at least have much more practice at writing than I have now. i have been really clacking on that field in the last three o four years and I need to get back into form…
Now, I’d dearly love to list the titles here, but I’m paranoid that some f my RL friends would see this, and I really wish to stay anonymous here (and some of my friends know what I’d been writing about). So, I’ll just make a list of genres, settings here, so that I can keep track more easily…
1. comic fantasy/classic fantasy; medieval urban setting
2. scifi-fantasy, other planet, bunch of teenagers
3. urban fantasy, werewolves
4. urban fantasy, fairy fantasy
5. fantasy, american west
6. military fantasy
7. mythic fantasy
Not necessarily in that order :-)
