A friend of mine can identify quite a lot of tree species, and he thought me some the other day. Now I can identify:

Maple
Ash
Linden (ok, I knew that one from before)
Hazel
Oak (several kinds of oak, as a matter of fact)
Beech
Birch (also from before)

and three species I can’t remember English names for…

Not bad for half an hour’s walk ;)
