Hmmm, a couple of new tunes, jigs and reels. It seems it gets way easier to learn them once you get on the roll… :)))

I guess I’m getting ever better, although I don’t have much time for practice and learning of new tunes :/ I’m pretty happy with how I can do ornaments and such, but I need to learn ti vary a tune more. Hmmm. And I need to learn many, many new tunes.

Untitled

Still haven’t tried anything faster, but I’ve learned Loch Lomond and am working on Raglan Road.

Untitled

Learned Love Theme from Braveheart and Foggy Dew too. I’m dreading the moment when I decide it’s time to learn to play some faster tunes, reels and such…

Sites

Here are some sites with lots of sheet music and (occasionally) tin whistle tabs.

Mainly folk punk (Pogues, Flogging Molly etc.), some trads:
http://www.folkpunktabs.com/TinWhistle.htm (TW tabs)
http://www.folkpunktabs.com/SheetMusic.htm (Sheet music)

A couple of folk tunes, including Danny boy:
http://www.geocities.com/whistleandsqueak/folksongs.html (sheet music with tabs)

Loads of sheet music, mostly various jigs, reels and stuff; mainly Irish tunes:

Loads of tunes (sheet music, TW tabs, ABC format), mostly Scottish). Also, you can just download them all together:

Some more folk tunes, sheet music:

As for me… Right now I can play Star of the County Down, Roddy MacCorley, Danny Boy, Auld Triangle and (still pretty lousily) Battle of Brisbane. I’m trying to work on Green fields of France. I’m having problems with the tune, though, because of a couple of law notes that I can’t play on my D whistle… And, being very uneducated when it comes to playing music and stuff, I have no idea how to adjust the tune to the D whistle.

I’ve never had any talent music-wise, but the tin whistle is proving to be… possible to learn, to put it that way. I’m not doing all that bad. I’m not doing as bad as I thought I would, anyway.

Oh, and I can play four tunes already :D – Star of the County Down, Roddy MacCorley, Danny Boy and The Auld Triangle.

Not in a very elaborate way, but hey, I’m playing… :D
