Already have the plan.
Inside of the forearms, symmetrically placed (of course).
On the left arm, the Bright logo, seen next to the text here: http://www.the-brights.net/
On the right, the glider emblem: http://www.catb.org/~esr/hacker-emblem/
The sides are important. The left is vulnerable, the right is active. The left accepts, the right projects. Left pulls in, right pushes out. Left holds quietly, right turns it into something else. Left is yin, right is yang.
As a Bright, the naturalistic worldview has a lot to do with how I internalize things. It’s the core of my spirituality, my feely relationship with the universe. It’s an acceptance of a certain degree of ignorance that we all have, coupled with a confidence that the world is what it is, and nothing else. “Supernatural” is a contradiction, and a commitment to naturalism opens a lot of doors for introspection and understanding. That is my yin.
As a Hacker, I focus a lot of mental and artistic energy at the task of creating New Shit. It’s a very meticulous kind of creation, like sketching with math. Also, it involves thinking in new ways, finding holes through things, creating something where before there was nothing. It is my way of creating wealth in the world, the core of my interaction with colleagues, and a constant exercise that drives me to always do better. That is my yang.
I’m not sure whether to go with black-and-skin, or fill in the off-areas with white, or actually use color somehow this time.
I’ll try to whip up some graphics tonight and put them online. I have a few gliders, and a couple iterations of the brights logo, but nothing I’m really happy with. Also, I’d done them in photoshop, so they were overly big and rastered. Now that I’ve been working with Illustrator more, I’m going to try my hand at doing them in a vector way.
I’d also like to get my existing tattoos re-inked, because the black has faded to a somewhat less attractive dark-bluish-gray.
Edit:
Oh wait, I forgot, I did put these online:

I don’t love the colors, though, and I still want to vectorize.
