Much better, but by the end of the week my legs were feeling REALLY dead. I’m not used to running so much mileage (which is really sad considering how little mileage I’m running), so many days a week, or on hilly terrain (which is all that is nearby).

Well, I had wanted to run 5 days and get 20 miles in last week, but I ran 4 days and got 13.
Mon – 5 miles easy
Tues – 3 miles easy
Wed – 3 miles easy
Thurs – off
Fri – 2 miles hard
Sat and Sun – off
For this week, I’m going to just try to increase that and get 15 miles in. Once again, not a monumental amount, but you have to start somewhere. I’ve been eating reasonably well lately. I eat what I like, and I eat as much as I want, but I’m paying attention to getting fruits and veggies and staying away from really fatty foods. Go me.

The main problem is TIME. Trying to teach, coach, and still have a semi-active social life leaves little to no time to train. Right now I’m very spotty – some weeks I can work out 5 days, some I don’t workout at all. The first thing I need to do is drop about 5 pounds of fat that I’ve managed to put on, so I need to be a little more careful about what I eat, and I need to get running some distance to shave that off. I managed to get a 6 miler in last week, but I haven’t run since . . . sigh. So, being that it’s Monday, I’m going to go for a fresh start this week and try to get about 20 miles in for the week. As long as I run 5 days, that should be cake. I also need to look into finding a gym so I can start lifting again and convert some of my flab in fab! Hahaha. If I can hang in there for the next 5-6 weeks it’ll be summer and I’ll have all the time in the world . . .
