My loans are finally consolidated, as of this week. Took them long enough… It pissed me off a little bit when every time I called Citibank, from back in June until now, they gave me the impression that it was ‘almost finished.’ 6 weeks at the most, my ass! The good news is, is that I did get in early enough for the lower interest rate – and I have to say that with the consolidation, and auto-payment set up, I have a kickass rate. Pair that with a lower monthly payment… that means I’ll be able to put more into paying off my credit card. Orrrr, maybe I should pay off my reserve credit line at my bank that’s at 21% APR first. Or, perhaps I should pay off my school short term loan balance so I can get my diploma? So much debt, so little time.

Consolidation… just in time for me to request a deferral because I want to go back to school… and get more loans!

Consolidation…. I applied online this weekend. I went with Citibank since I had one Stafford loan through them anyway. They said the application process takes 6-8 weeks, and I realized that I was a little less than 6 weeks away from the end of my grace period, so I got my ass in gear and applied right away. I need to call this week just do double check on things, make sure everything is all set up to go with no snags. Definitely want to get that ‘in-grace’ interest rate.

10 - 30 years.

My grace period is over in June. I’m looking tentatively into consolidation options – but don’t want to jump into it too early. I’m glad I’ll be able to get the lower interest rate; they’re supposed to be going up this year.
