No more excuses 3 years ago

Lots of time this weekend, I should get back on the horse and try working out a GTD system that I will really use.

I keep thinking: “If only I had a new bag, then I would be more organized, and I wouldn’t want to avoid opening it up to look for a pen or my notebook,” or “if only I could afford to buy tons and tons of file folders, then I’d want to restart my GTD system.” But I know there has to be a way for me to start this up, and WANT to use the system, without spending more money.

I've got a BIG stack in my in box. 3 years ago

Like most of my other goals, this one is being pushed aside by this one for the time being.

I’m still writing things down and throwing them in the in box. I just haven’t gone through it for more than a week. Hope there wasn’t anything time sensitive in there… (Maybe just some bills. Oh well.)

Got my index cards and my folders (no labeller though) 3 years ago

I’ve tentatively started… Things seem a little bumpy right now, but I think it will be that way until I work the kinks out and find what works best for me. Right now I’ve got several next actions lists separated by context, and one card per action paper clipped behind the list. I like the idea of one card/one action, but I also like the idea of having all the actions within a certain context on one list so they’re easy to see.

One thing that I really like doing right now is making folders… when I get a little piece of paper with a name of an artist I want to remember or the type of matting I got for my last framed print, I just make a folder for “Artists – reference” and “Art – Framing – reference”, respectively, and throw them in there.

This is also definitely helping me sort my ideas for my print show coming up at the end of March!

Here’s what my project card for this looks like:
