Italian for beginners 15 months ago

My local University offers a range of language courses.

I’ve signed up for an Italian beginners short course (about 20 hrs tuition) starting October 11.

Why? 15 months ago

Most places I’ve been to people speak a minimum of two languages and can get by in three. It’s time I did better than just English.
I’m picking Italian because:

1. I figure the Latin base has got to make it easier to start with than say… Cantonese. French or Spanish are also way up on the list.

2. Italy is a county I could keep going back to (as well as France).

3. I’ll meet a few other people trying to learn Italian and we can mangle the language together which should be fun.
