I haven’t added relaxer to my hair since at least March 30, 2009. That’s the day I got my hair braided in individuals. I took the braids out at the end of May; my hair grows pretty fast so it was already hard to manage by myself. Braids really aren’t a good move for me either; my hair breaks off at the root and now I’ve got something resembling a bald spot which I am NOT thrilled about! I struggled with the idea of shaving it again (I shaved it when I was 19). It just doesn’t seem like the best thing to do since I’m 25, married, and have a ‘real’ job. I really don’t want to deal with people’s reactions/over-reactions. So, last weekend I went to a new hair salon and got a wash and flat-iron. Perfect. Problem SOLVED thanks to my new fave hair dresser (if she lets me I’ll post her info on here). So, no more relaxer and basically flat iron the new growth. I have a cute style now that I’m very happy with.
