Kitchen's done!

UNBELIEVABLE!! Never in my life have I felt so free! lol My office is almost done, and it should be completely done by Wednesday! Hiring the professional organizer was one of the best decisions of my life!

Hired a professional organizer!

It’s an expense, but it’s doable, and she’s incredible! There is already a HUGE difference in my life! My office is again usable, and I’m one-third through sorting my papers. Next, I will install a shelving extension for my printers, move my desk toward the middle of the room, and I will learn how to file papers. Having ADHD and all, I could never do all this by myself, it’s too overwhelming!

I should be able to finish the office by the end of next week, and next comes the kitchen!

THE GARAGE IS DONE!!!!!

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! Totally done AND organized!!

Did 10 trips to the recycling center today!

Unbelievable! I was cleaning up the rest of the garage, so I had to get rid of an incredible amount of boxes. Had to drive about 10 times to the recycling center as a result which was tiring, especially since the temperature was between 95 and 100 degrees! The result is spectacular! Tomorrow I will simply pressure-wash the remaining part of the garage, then arrange whatever is left in it, so that it looks all tidy and accessible. Much much better.

My home office is the last thing I gotta do, and all my clutter will therefore be gone!!

Most of the garage is done!

I did some serious decluttering in the garage the last two days! I will be taking lots of cardboard boxes to recycling today, and I hope most of the remaining styrofoam trash will also be gone by tomorrow evening. All that is left then is to organize the left side of my garage, especially the tool area. I’m so happy that things are finally taking shape and definitely in awe and amazement at what a good pressure-washer can achieve.

Done with the house!!

So I decided to do major decluttering which I finally managed to do, including deep-cleaning of the house. One of my excuses was expecting a friend over for the 4th of July weekend. She did come alright, and she was actually eager to help me with some practical matters because she’s something of a handywoman! She helped me pick and set up the garage shelving, put together my snow-blower and pressure washer, and gave me lots of advice. She even trained my dog in areas that I was still having trouble with!

All I need to do now is declutter my home office which is not that daunting and put the garage in order which I should be able to do by the end of the summer. The feeling of freedom is amazing…

House cleaning done!

Only the laundry-room is left, but at least the house is spotlessly clean and decluttered, and I can receive my friend who should be arriving in an hour and a half from now! Just enough time to shower and perhaps tackle the laundry-room too since there’s not too much to do there.

The only thing left to do is finish putting my CD collection in order. Then go through my papers in my home office, but that’s not as daunting as decluttering and cleaning the house from top to bottom was! I can definitely see light at the end of the tunnel…

Clutter-free areas!

So I’ve been able to get rid of all my hot-spots, large and small, and purge an incredible amount of stuff in the two bedrooms, two bathrooms, walk-in closet, living-room, and corridor! Everything has been evaluated, re-arranged, put in order, cleaned, polished. The kitchen and dining-room should be done tomorrow, as well as the remaining half of the laundry-room! Mount Washmore is no more! lol After that, I have to turn to my office which is still a mess, but it should be manageable. All in all, I’m very proud of my progress.

Unprecedented dedication...

I took the opportunity to purge as much clutter as possible and not get new stuff. The results are amazing! I am getting unprecedented breathing space, or so it seems. While I have never been a hoarder in my life, I have been on the untidy side, and after so many moves in the last ten years or so, amassed an amazing amount of clutter. One of the things I’ve been doing these days is trade in as much as possible on Amazon, sell tons, give away to friends, and donate the rest. From the Amazon trade-ins alone I’ve received about 400 dollars in credit which, combined with other opportunities for gift cards, allowed me to get my dog’s preventatives and meds for free for an entire year! Since I also live at a place where the winters are rather terrible, I also got a free, brand new snow blower!! Absolutely amazing.

The fact that a dear friend is coming for a visit in about 10 days also contributed to my decision to hasten my purging efforts, but, truth be told, I had already started before. :)
