I’m excited, because out of the blue I was asked to write an article for a community paper.
I had attended a meeting offered by the local Sheriff’s department to educate parents about gangs and drugs in high school, and the paper needed someone to do a write up of the event.
It gave me a chance to step outside of my everyday role as a technical editor and do a different kind of writing.
Not exectly a short story, but it is a baby step in the right direction…
