Out of ten places asked to take a tin only two have agreed. However I have three more to go back to on Monday as their managers were not in yesterday.
Today I will write letters to send to churches, schools and shops asking for support or donations of money or items to raffle/tombol. I will also write to local press.
Once I got my speech sorted I did not feel as scared to go in and ask – one guy though he said no to a tin did give me a small donation(every penny counts). Feel quite energised and slightly more confident now!

and need to get out there starting today. Why does this seem so daunting to me? I think it’s because it means putting myself in the limelight. Got to get over myself!

yesterday confirming the arrangements for one fundraising activity in September. I really need to go into THE ZONE and do some serious planning this weekend.
Wow. Look at this quote I found at the side of the page! What a timely reminder of the need to plan things out properly and not just drift around muddling through as is my usual pattern!
“If I had six hours to chop down a tree, I’d spend the first hour sharpening the ax.”

now so there is no going back. My heart is in my mouth as I think of the mammoth task facing me now. Ah well if i fall flat on my face any money raised will still go to the charity!
There will be a lot less time for sitting here on 43things and feeling sorry for myself and watching all the amazing people on here living their amazing lives and doing such amazing things!

Today:
I found the trek and ensured it was a manageable time scale for raising the money….
I left a message for the fund-raising person at the hospice to ring me back – if she had been there I would have been able to speak to her today which would have been a major commitment….
I looked up the fundraising website and how to share it etc.
Even if i end up paying most of the money myself it doesn’t matter that much – I get to challenge myself on a trek to China and raise money for the hospice.
I want the money to go to the part of the hospice that provides bereavement counselling for children and young people but maybe some of it to the volunteer team to help keep that running. I may even find that this is the place I want to volunteer.

I have to make the decision and go for it!

1. Find the trek you want to do
2. Visit the hospice or decide which other charity you would like to support.
3. Get the fundraising organised – you already have collected £150
4. Keep Going.
