Visit an international city for every letter of the alphabet

Cyprus. Cheating a bit now as I only stopped here briefly for a few hours whilst travelling to Israel by ferry.

Lived here for 6 months in 1984.

Arrived here for my stay in Israel in 1984 and stayed a few days in a Youth Hostel. I am sure I visited the Baha’i Temple whilst I was there but it is so long ago now I can’t quite be sure.

Spent a day in Granada visiting the Alhambra, I liked the look of the city and would love to visit again.

Gibraltar, just a visit here for the day again whilst in Spain. We were driven through the city in a little mini bus that took us up to the top of the rock where the Barbary Apes live. We drove past the Caleta Hotel where John Lennon and Yoko Ono got married. I think I read somewhere about only having to be in Gibraltar for 24 hours before being able to get married there, making it a popular location for Weddings. However of course now couples have to book well in advance due to the popularity of the location having increased.

It was a long time ago(1985). I cannot remember very much about the city except missing my chance to book a train ticket to Berlin and see the wall before it came down! Oh and the trams and a little bar where I sat drinking coffee and listening to the jukebox.

Visited with my son a few years ago. Would love to go back again – fell in love with the place.

Again it’s a long time ago(I was probably about 19 or 20). It’s really not that far away so I really must plan a trip back there.

Ok not a city. But I am going to cheat. Caesarea was a Roman City the ruins of which I have visited but not the modern city. Wish I could go back there and take it all in again. My memories of the visit are very hazy.

Lucky, lucky me! :) Now can I go back please?

It was a long time ago now and quite a short visit, only a matter of a few days. I was very young and it was my first time out of the UK. I was travelling alone. I visited the Acroplis and the Parthenon, the temple dedicated to Athena. Whilst in Athens, I stayed in a hostel and left a pair of trousers there, that I had placed under my matress to press during the night.
Since that visit I have viewed the Elgin Marbles in the British Museum and learned much more than I knew then(not just about Ancient Greece).
