I’ve managed to work a 15 min meditation session into my daily routine. It’s become second nature for me to do this first thing in the morning, when my mind is still relatively clear.
Now I’m going to work towards longer sessions and participating in retreats.

There always seems to be something “more important” to do than sit down for 15 mins or so. I’m sad to report I’m not living up to my own expectations about this goal.
I’ve said to friends in the past that meditating every day does for your brain what brushing your teeth does for your mouth: it lets you start the new day with a fresh mind. There is a great incentive to brushing your teeth at least once per day: bad breath. It isn’t as obvious when you haven’t meditated for a while.

I’m getting more disciplined about this. I have a list where I can check off every day I meditate, and have been doing so consistently for the past week. Only been doing 15 minutes at a time tho…
