move to Portland

My friends are incredible. They took a storage room in the basement that was completely packed and turned it into a wonderful, comfortable living space, just for me. I’m already looking into a job I’d love, and several community workshops going on soon. I can’t wait to totally plug in!

I’ve told everyone my plan. My last day of work is a week from today. Then, while I’m on this half of the country I’m going to take 2 weeks or so to hit up different cities and see friends that I would love to see, and have no idea when my next opportunity will be. Then I’m gonna stop by my folks’ place in Kentucky, mail a few things ahead to Portland (primarily books, a few clothes) and then I’m off! I’m soo excited!

The weather just kicked my ass, when it started to get cloudy and funky all the time. I had to escape that part of the country. After the beginning of the year I’m going to go off to beautiful Mexico, and probably make it back up to Portland by April-ish. I still really want to go, but this time of year won’t exactly endear it to me. Once I go in the beautiful weather season, and get settled, the following wet season won’t seem so bad.

...in a neighborhood I want to live in, with beautiful friends surrounding me. I just got an email from my dear friend Rhea, who has approximately one billion things on her plate at any given time. She has emailed to say…... I can move into the house! I didn’t have much fear that I couldn’t, everyone that lives there connect so well. But it had been so long since I had heard anything on the subject, that I was beginning to wonder. Anyway, I’m still on a search for some random work here in Northern Cali (tis the season) to fund my move. I officially spent my last pennies today, a first for me.

this is actually on the cusp of actualization. I’ve made a great network of friends there, have a lot of couches I could surf and some people that are willing to rent a room to me. First I need to make some money, I’m down to like $81, and I really want to have some money on hand before I go up there. People have pledged to take care of me till I get on my feet if I go up, but I would much rather have enough money to get me by until I get a job I actually want.
Off I go to find a job somewhere!
