I’m getting pretty close on this one. All of my music and most of my files are done. All of my books and cds are catalogued. The weblog thing is on hold while I decide if I actually want to have my archives out in public anymore, but I’ve got all of that stuff in DevonThink where at least I can use it intelligibly. iPhoto is really the main big obstacle left, and it’s been frustrating trying to do that with like 5000 photos to sort through and the slowness and the crappy interface for dealing with massive amounts of files and such. Might try using Picasa on my PC instead.

Get proper metadata on everything. mp3s, pics in iPhoto, old bookmarks into del.icio.us, old weblog entries categorized and titled, books and cd’s into delicious library or equivalent, random files on my drive named intelligibly so they’ll be searchable when google desktop or equivalent is finally ready for primetime.
Then start automatically doing this for every new thing that I bring in. I’ve been too much of a sieve these last couple of years… so much information intake, but very little synthesis. Now there are finally tools that will let me organize all this stuff and use it, so it’s time to get cracking.
