I would like to be one of those people that can create an interesting life without feeling like I have to bow to pressures to fulfill an exact role.
For example, I am on the path of trying to be a high-end computer animator for television or film. Nowadays there tend to be very strict job categories in this field. I would like to think that I don’t have to shove myself into a cookie cutter role just to participate in the field. Unless I decide I want to at some point.
Anyway, I don’t know how I am going to be a generalist in a specialist’s world. I am going to try to learn two roles, and see if one “sticks”. In the meantime, I am also going to keep an eye out for strange, uncharted opportunites to do CG where it hasn’t been done before.
