this general goal is the endpoint for several of my smaller ones—cleaning the basement, digitizing photos and audio cassettes, etc. generally, i’d like to make myself more portable. the next time i’m free to travel or move to another home, i’d like to have very little to take with me or store somewhere.
a few areas to clean up:
anything that can be digitized
audio and image files are better than cassettes, cds, and glossy photos (and can always be converted into the latter if needed).
in this regard, i hope ebook readers continue to improve (the kindle doesn’t cut it for me). in particular, i feel weighed down by my collection of bulky and heavy books of musical scores. i hope there’s a device someday which expands to a reasonable size for reading an orchestral score.
garden/yard tools
i brought mine when i sold my house. i need to consolidate them with glenn’s and get rid of the extra lawn mower, shed, etc.
clothes
i need to purge everything that doesn’t fit or has turned to rags.
