I like the idea of using one account to pay all the “planned” expenses, and then another one (or two for couples) to use as an “allowance”. It might be a bit too simplistic when it comes to things that aren’t really “planned”, but still happen fairly regularly (like groceries or gas), but I think it’ll be flexible enough.
