write a story

I’ve been working with this goal for a while now in my personal journal, but II want to move back to 43t, so here’s an update.

It seems I left off thinking about writing about something dealing with laptop musicians, digital artists, etc. This is the field in which I feel I have something to offer to the world, as such, it it what I should write about. However, lately I have been questioning whether writing a traditional story is even what I should be doing. I don’t really read stories. I do love to listen to stories though. Can’t get enough, in fact. So I’m going to head in that direction. I still need a script though. And I think that script should be about Mr. Crouse the Senior. He wrote me a story when I was about 16 that was the story of our relationship. He said that some day, I might do the same for him. Sounds corny, but I think it could be interesting.

I’ve begun to plan out a short story, or perhaps a novella. It seems pretty intense to just jump right in and try to write an entire novel. Is it weird that one of my highest aspirations in life is to one day say, “I am on vacation – if you absolutely must contact me, please email my agent.” or “I was having lunch with my agent the other day when my ex-wife walked in!”? I’d kill a motherfucker for that.
