Thanks for suggesting doing this.
The house although a tip, waiting for the workman, is less cluttered.
I started really well but when they extended the number of days I started to flag.
However the good side is that I do now rush round and tidy the little hotspots each week. I have been throwing out leftovers in the fridge and best of all I have found Freecycle.
Freecycle is such an enjoyable way of getting rid of my rubbish, I’m actually pleased when I find I can recycle something.
So yes I would do it again.
Thanks for suggesting it

After my mamoth effort mid week I really slowed down.
I have thrown out 1 pair of leggings that had seen better days but that has been it. Will clear out the spare room this week as we have visitors coming next weekend.

I ventured into the fridge and freezer today and threw out any fruit, vegetables and sauces that looked past their prime.
Then I organised our meals over the next few days with the remaining things in the freezer that were lurking.

ok this was easy until they said tidy your clothes and I found the big problem/ excuse. I’ve just realised none of the clothes I wear make it into the wardrobe because it gets so dusty. Could be why my house looks so messy. Basically all my clothes are scattered round the house, in ironing piles, looking for a home. Its got worse recently knowing we would be moving out but that is still no excuse.
Think I may have to have a drastic rethink.
So I gave up threw out one hat and went on to the fridge. I also did the 2 notice boards and cleared them out. I decided that I really ought to tackle a couple of pieces of paper that needed attention on the boards. I sorted out the details of the accident I had last month and filled in beloveds form for the criminal records reference he needs. I would have given up filling it in if I hadnt kept telling myself that it makes children safer and he needs it so he can coach juniors. It took 3hrs to sort both forms out, I cant believe it. Now I know why I hate paper. Cant help feeling I’ve wasted my day.

Saturday I took it easy, well I was busy walking 20 miles then sleeping so I did magazines and threw out exactly none.
I only get the RHS magazine and they are too lovely to throw out so Ill just tidy them up.
All our newspapers are recycled each week so no backlog there. Im sure there are some lurking somewhere but i was too tired and stiff to care.
Sunday tackled the bathroom cabinet – YUCK it was full of old medicines etc etc threw out over 3lbs and put some unwanted bath products in the charity box. Still have to do the bathroom upstairs and I know thats full of my creams etc. Will do that later when the house is awake.
Oh and I went on the freecycle site and offered my cycle helmet that Id replaced but is too good to throw out

whilst everyone was flinging happily I was struggling at work but I did manage to rehouse my now spare chairs in the evening using the Freecycle website. Freecycle is a brilliant concept where you can offer spare stuff that you have got that need new homes. In the last week Ive got rid of my chairs, some garden troughs and some courgette plants.
As I gave the chairs away I remembered they had come out of a skip at the back of my office in the 1980’s. So thats the 2nd time they have been recycled.
Going to catchup today, starting with the hall / porch
