My son had surgery in the crotchal area 2 months ago. That completely changed everything. I had to keep him in diapers (cloth with safety pins so he couldn’t open them) so he wouldn’t poke at his incision for 2 weeks. He doesn’t stay dry at night anymore. It’s like starting over.
If I angle the door so he can see himself in the mirror, he stays on the can. He thinks it’s funny. He doesn’t climb on the sink and play with things when I do that. I also discovered that if he’s not wearing anything, he’s more likely to ask to be taken to the bathroom.

I’m pregnant again and the smell of changing diapers is making me very nauseous. I can’t even be near the bucket. Laundry day. . . I just want to go lay down and die.
He stays dry during the night and during naps. We have a seat for him to sit on the regular potty and there’s a potty in the living room. When he wakes up in the morning he gets me to take his diaper off and I sit him on the toilet. Usually he’ll pee. If I set him on it any other time he’ll get distracted and stand up and play with things on the sink. I notice he pees to the left, so every time he pees on my leg. I’m making more cloth training pants. The ones I made are really hard for him (and me) to pull up and down. I need to get a couple of books about this. They might have some things I haven’t thought of.
